Fundraising
Last year, the Downers Grove Junior Woman's Club donated $125,000 to support local children, high school students, senior citizens, the abused, the ill, the homeless, victims of tragedy and families in need. Beyond financial contributions, we supported the community through various volunteer efforts such as providing Thanksgiving Day meals to local families, donating cleaning supplies to Sharing Connections and supporting the education of incoming kindergarten students at our annual Safety Town school.
“When I picked them (the children) up to take them to the first day back to school from break, they were both wearing the clothes and had big smiles on their faces. You not only have given them new clothing to wear that fits and is nicer than anything they have had, you have also given these two more confidence and you have lifted their heads a bit. Thank you so very much for making this year’s Christmas quite special.”
